History of the Fiesta 1976 to 1983
Mk1 Series-X Fiesta

This was not just a body kit, but more specifically a scheme set up by Ford to allow customers to have certain factory modifications made to their vehicle before purchase. The kit shown is similar to the Mk2 XR2 kit. It has wider wheel arch extensions than the Mk1 XR kit, and it also has side skirts and a small roof top spoiler. The front and rear valences are also similar to those of the Mk2 kit but shaped to fit the Mk1. As well as the body kit, series-x included 7x13 inch alloys in the popular RS style, as opposed to pepperpot design used on the XR2. There was also an engine kit available for the 1100cc Kent engine that would increase output by 20%.
Mk1 Fiesta RS Kit

This kit was available from Ford when the Fiesta was first released, it consisted of the XR kit but with the extra side skirts. This kit could be fitted to any standard Fiesta but for the XR2 and Supersport which already had the XR kit fitted, the skirts were available separately so they could be added to the existing XR kit that was fitted to those cars. Another feature of the RS kit was a high level boot spoiler instead of the below window one of the XR kit. Also featured on the car in the picture are the RS 7 spoke wheels, which were available in 6x14 size for the Mk1.
