Single Wiper Conversion (By: Paul Jefferies)

Go to the scrapyard and get a connection bar from a MK2 fiesta (the one that goes between the wiper motor and the passenger side wiper arm).

First unbolt the panel which holds the bonnet catch and move it out of the way (6 10mm bolts), then unbolt the 3 wiper motor bolts and prize the wiper connecting bar off the back with a big flat bladed screwdriver, its a bit more difficult to get to the knuckle joint at the wiper end though (use a short bar and hammer - they are a very tight fit)

Remove the connecting bar and cut about 1/2" out of it, then weld the bar back together.

The next step depends on where you want the wiper blade to sit. There is a 10mm nut on the back of the wiper motor which controls the wiper action, undo it and prize the arm from the motor.

Re-attach the link bar to the wiper arm end and position the wiper arm on the screen where you want it to sit when it is parked.

The bar on the wiper motor has a locating tag on it, this needs to be flattened out as the bar is only really supposed to sit in one set position on the motor. Position the link bar and offer the wiper motor up to it, you will now see in what position you have got to replace the operating arm. (this may take a couple of attempts, especially if you are positioning the wiper arm in the centre of the screen!)

Replace the 10mm nut and do it up tightly (there is no location tag now remember). Re-fit the wiper motor and give it a trial run - make sure the wiper parks in the right place and doesn't go off the edges of the windscreen! If everything is OK put the bonnet latch pannel back and fully tighten all securing bolts.

As far as wiper arms go, you can use one from a Fiat Uno or straighten the standard one in the vice if u like!
