Keyless Boot Lock
A simple way too delock the boot, without having to fill the hole that the lock normally fills. Some people delock the boot of their car by removing the lock and then sticking the Ford badge over the hole, which is OK, but all you have to do is prise the badge off and the boot will be open in a matter on minutes.
Before you can even think about removing the boot lock you will have to either fit a solenoid to open it with, or some other way of opening it from inside the car. Don't remove the lock and then close the boot, only to realise you have no way of opening it again!
If you don't want the hassle of getting the hole welded up and the boot sprayed, then there is a better way to go about it. If you take the lock barrel out of it's black case (the handle type thing) then you can fill the centre where the barrel would normally go. Fibreglass is the best thing to use, fill the whole barrel from end to end, that way if someone tries to drill through it they won't be able to get anything in to open the boot, and it will take them ages.
Once the fibreglass has hardened, use a file or sandpaper to get the lock back to the right shape. Give it a couple of coats of filler primer to get rid of the ridge round the edge of the fibreglass and smooth it off with fine sandpaper. Then you can give it a coat of normal primer and paint it what ever colour you want. It will fit back into the boot that same way it came out, using the slide clip across the back, but now there will be no keyhole.
